Teresa Anne Remple was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and has lived in Bellingham for nearly six years. She is the proprietress of texture clothing and in that capacity she does everything from drafting patterns to sweeping the floors. She started sewing at twelve and founded the company in October, 2002. Her all time style icon is Madeleine Vionnet and she is quite fond of disco-dancing. Her favourite actor is Tim Robbins and she is terrified of speaking in public. Her favourite book as a child was The Pokey Little Puppy and her first pet was a dog named Thompson. She is fond of a mysterious place called Holden Village and would spend much more time there if she were not busy running the world. She has never shot a real gun. |

Oso Ghoffrani finally feels like Bellingham is home, after being born and raised here. She tried flying the coop after finishing high school, travelling locally and overseas, and working as many different jobs as there are flavour combinations at Mallard Ice Cream. She enjoys being outside as much as possible, thriving on fresh air and activities like mountain biking, snowboarding, kayaking, and hiking. She loves to get into a good book, get into an imaginative art project, and LOVES to design and sew things, like bike bags, using her industrial sewing machine and recycled materials if possible. Oso was born in a renovated chicken coop in Fairhaven, given only one name at birth, has two lovely sisters, and two lovelier kiddos. Oso finds happiness in eating fresh delicious foods, playing and laughing with friends and family, being creative, trekking around this beautiful place we live, taking care and being present with everything she’s involved with. |

Emily Irwin was born in California and raised in Hawaii, on the island of Maui. She is continually thrilled by the concept of seasons, and ‘cold’ still has not lost its novelty. She is known among friends for her sharp tongue and quick wit. Her fierce nature is kept in check by unusually poor balance and a weakness for underdog movies. Emily is an artist who refuses to put meaning in her work and a cynic in love with the world. She enjoys reading Missed Connections on Craigslist for the delightful spectrum of human nature it presents. Emily doesn’t own an iPod and she watches all her TV on the internet. Emily is in many ways a typical college student, living on odd meals of SpaghettiOs, Mountain Dew and pickles. Also, she will sleep for impressive fourteen-hour chunks if you let her. |

Elizabeth Ruff grew up in the small town of Skagway, Alaska. She joined both sets of grandparents and many cousins when she moved to Bellingham, and now lives 4 blocks from where her great-grandparents lived. Elizabeth is texture’s "jill of all trades" and does all of the random jobs that keep business going- drywalls, paints, ships orders, cleans, works markets and gives Teresa mini counseling sessions. Due to her exceptional wit, she also MC’s the fashion shows. She loves to practice and teach yoga, rock climb, make art, have meaningful conversations, drink and formulate tea, run and telemark ski. She hates egg shells in her food and wet socks. In 10 years she believes the world will be conscious and all people will base their decisions on the best choice for the greatest good of humanity and global health. Elizabeth will be able to live off the grid with ease and provide food for herself and friends. She will have a successful body of work in structural integration (which she is now studying), a yoga teaching practice, and will make regular pilgrimages to far away lands. |

Hedi Rosa Stenvers was born in Germany and moved to California eventually settling in Bellingham in 1990. She works as a seamstress for texture clothing and has a distinct aversion to taffeta. She hates the Beatles yet strangely adores “Strawberry Fields Forever” incense. She is a Virgo with grandchildren who fondly remembers watching the symphony with her father. She prefers Sarsaparilla and square dancing to the rough trendy crowd and enjoys the films of Katherine Hepburn and Anthony Hopkins. She says her mother sewed everything and “if you were to look at the stitching you’d swear it was done on a machine.” She occasionally sews her own clothing and is considered to be an excellent cook. She no longer plays any games yet possesses an elaborate sense of humour. |
